Should I stay in Panama for a few days before and after the cruise? Is Royal Caribbean the only cruise ship company that departs out of Panama?

If you are going to be in Panama anyhow, I would definitely take some time to explore the country. It`s not very big, and you can get to just about any part of it easily by air or by land. From Panama City you can go to the Pearl Islands, an archipelago just 20 minutes by plane from the city; Isla Contadora is beautiful and charming. Visiting the Kuna Yala indigenous territory on the Caribbean side is really worthwhile, you can stay there overnight or just visit for the day.
