Q. What is the best time of year to visit the panama canal?

"And mornings are your best bet at any time of year..."

There is steady traffic across the Canal year-round, so weather may be your only factor in choosing when to go - summer in Panama is between December and April, when there is less rain and relative humidity; and mornings are your best bet at any time of year, before the day`s heat and afternoon showers set in.

Q. What time of year is a good time to go to panama city panama?

Spirit airlines is having some really great deals from the US to Panama. Depending on when you want to go and where, it may or may not be cheaper to fly first into Costa Rica, then get another flight.

Q. When is the best time to visit panama?

"If you want to see panama at its best you need at..."

The hot season in Panama is January through March. There is almost no rain and the weather is dry. Lots of sunshine, great fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving at Isla Coiba. If you want to see Panama at its best you need at least a month of vacation.

This answer closely relates to:
  • Good times of the year to visit panama
    • Where is there good scuba diving in central america?
    • Can you stay overnight on isla coiba?
    • Is the panamanian government turning isla coiba into a tourist attraction?

Q. What is the best time of year to visit panama rainforests?
i plan to go to the gamboa resort in colon, panama and i was wondering when the best time to go was. i don't know much about the weather in the rainforests besides how much it rains. are their certain seasons that affect the heat? thanks.

"So if you want to visit the rain forest while it is raining..."

Right now we are in a very rainy, rainy season. We have received as much as five inches in just one hour. So if you want to visit the rain forest while it is raining, then this is the time, until December, to come. If you want to be here during the dry season, then come toward the end of December stay until it starts again in April or May. In the dry season it is hot, no two ways about it. The nights will be cool, but that is true all year round.

Q. Traveling alone on an airplane for the first time? advice?
so i'm 16 years old, and next week i'm going to uruguay by myself because my mom has to work. we've been going together for the past 10 years to visit our family but this year it got a little bit complicated and my mom has alot of work so she asked me if i wanted to go alone. so obviously i said yes, but i'm so scared! there's so much stuff going on at an airport, and they're so big! how do you know where to go? the flight even has a layover in panama! my mom usually guided me around and now i'm very nervous because i keep thinking i'm going to get lost and lose my flight. so what's your advice to me about flying alone for the first time at such a young age?

"When you connect in panama..."

You should be fine. Everything is clearly marked in the airports, and you can always ask an airline representative for help if you have trouble. When you arrive at your departure airport, you'll need to check in at the counter of the airline on which you're flying. You will show your passport, get your boarding passes, and check any bags that you have. From there, you head toward your gate, which they will write on your boarding pass. The gate is usually a letter and a number. The letter is the concourse, or big hallway, and the number is the actual gate in that hallway where your plane will leave. There will be obvious signs pointing you to the various concourses. At some point, you will reach security. Some airports have one big security area, and others have it for each concourse. You will show your boarding pass & ID again, will have to take off your shoes, and will have to empty your pockets. Your shoes and any carry-on bags that you have will go through x-ray while you go through the metal detector. You get your stuff on the other end and head to the gate. When you connect in Panama, you shouldn't have to go through security. You'll just need to find the next gate. You may have this on your boarding pass from when you originally checked in. Or they may announce the various connecting gates as you approach Panama. If not, check the electronic boards in the airport. Find your airline, find your destination city, then your flight number, and it will give your gate. When you land in Uruguay, just follow the crowd. You'll have to collect your checked bags and then pass through customs/immigration. Hopefully your family will be waiting for you beyond there. Good luck, and have a good trip!

Q. Are texans spanish or english speakers and what language will they talk in 15 years time?
i have never met a texan, one took the trouble to email me and tell me that all my friends are second rate whores. he goes by the handle of tex, i just wondered what makes him the expert on whores. no one accepts money for sex here, is'nt that what a whore does? i do hope that there is someone in texas that lets people live their lives in peace and is'nt a narrow minded bigot. please restore my faith in good old texas, my father was part indian, from north dakota, he left my mother and i when i was 2, i do wonder about him. now to be shot at again by tex and his friends. would any others like to ruin my day? tony from isan via uk, panama, africa, spain and marathon, florida. i would like to visit texas next, maybe i'll like the people?

Howdy! Darling. I am sorry to hear a fellow texan would say such an awful thing to you. That's not a texan, that's disgraceful. Texans are primarily english I guess, but we do have some Tex-Mex. Don't know what we'll be talking in 15 years, maybe 'taco'. lol. Later gator' ya'll come back now..ya hear? :-)

Q. She got pregnant (she was a booty call) we got married, i love somebody else ?
before we married she and i were seeing each other casually for sex, we'd hang out but i would never ask her to be my girlfriend, she'd even go out with other people and so would i, she always made it clear that i was the one for her. this went on for 4 1/2 years, on about february 2007 we started going out in a more "more seriously" then in may i did a trip to ireland where i saw an old girlfriend i've been in contact with since 2000, irish girl and i didn;t have sex or anything but slept in the same bed (she was devastated after her boyfriend left her two weeks before i came) now, this irish girl (andrea) and i have always fantasized about being together and not being able to love anybody else but she wouldn't come live with me in panama and i sing in a band that got kind of serious so.... anyways, i came back in may and about 1 1/2 mo later my booty call was pregnant, her parents wanted us to get married and i wouldn't bail on her because it feels mean.... but in time i realized that im in love with the irish girl, this year she came to panama to visit for a week and we spent time together without my wife around 'cause she had to work... all the feelings got stronger and andrea (irish girl) confessed that all she wanted to do was wrap her arms around me....ever since all i do is think about someone else who is not my wife, dont get me wrong, my wife is beautiful! sexy, smart...but boring and not exciting... i could probably stay with her but not be too happy...right now im staying with her for my daughter...is it right to leave her because i'm not in love..i really do not know what to do. we will be going to therapy to try to figure things out. pleae help!

"Marriage is in good and bad times especially when there is a child..."

If you stopped having serious friendships with other woman you would not be in this dilemma. Marriage is in good and bad times especially when there is a child. The only solution if you care about your wife and child is to stop hanging out and talking with other woman over the phone and internet completely....... Your just tempting yourself . I love my husband more than any man on the planet but if I started hanging out with other men on my own or even opened myself to serious friendships it could lead to cheating and divorce. Do you value marriage and your child ? If you do then you have to put aside your emotions for the greater good. If your wife is a great Lady then why even risk another marriage where you could end up with a bad apple. Sure you may be in love but that changes in time to a deeper friendship kind of love and she may show a side of her in a relationship or marriage that you don't like. Don't gamble the stakes are to high for everyone involved.

Q. Has anyone travelled to panama lately?
my husband and i were married in march and are having to wait until late june or early july to take our honeymoon. i have travelled a lot and lived in belize for a few years and neither one of us want the typical resort honeymoon. we would like to experience some city life with good/historical culture, spend some time doing the jungle experience and yes, of course, have some of the rest and relaxation with the spa/beach experiences. we would like to do this for about $100 - $150 per day (hotel, food, travel, entrance fees to hot spots, etc.). how possible do you think this is? or would there be a better place you would suggest in the surrounding areas. i would like to go to a country i haven't visited before, so in central/south america, that cuts out mexico, guatemala, belize, ecuador, peru and bolivia. i would love to hear from other travellers who have spent time in panama. thanks for any help!

Q. What team has disrespected mexico the most this year?
honduras - their fans were hostile towards mexicans, the catrachos kept fouling the mexican players a lot of time with no intention, they catrachos wanted to start fights every minute, the catrachos are sore losers and can't accept defeat, the catrachos ruined the azteca locker rooms, the media talking bad about the mexican team, and they played anti-football at the azteca costa rica - arbitro during es and mex game said we were not going to the world cup and that we aren't giants in anything, kenton kept saying he was going to beat us (yet they lost 3x to us in one year by a goal margin of 6-1), the media ridiculed the mexican team, played anti-football at the azteca panama - played anti-football against mexico to get a tie during the gold cup, kept fouling the mexican players like it was rugby or something ( i still remember when ochoa was knocked out for no reason and the stupid salvadorian arbitro didn't give the panamanian a red card), they kept wanting to fight b/c they knew they had an arbitro by their side, i never like the way they play against mexico b/c it is mostly physical us of gringolandia - fans are some of the most racist fans in the world and are really racist towards mexicans, u.s. players have no respect for the mexican team (donovan always denigrates the mexican team), davies laughing at the mexican audience after his goal at the azteca and not getting penalized like abedayor, racist gringos visiting the azteca with their southern flags and egotistical attitudes like they are the most important people in the world, the biggest sore losers when they lose against mexico, playing anti-football all the time against mexico el salvador - fans wore swine flu masks when mexico played in el salvador and a lot of people were dying of swine flu, media and fans are racist and were disrespectful of mexico and the mexican team, they have a mexican tecnico, es arbitro for the panama v mexico game guatemala - always try to find a way to get mexico out of the world cup (usually by protesting to fifa or something), their fans are disrespectful and guatemala was lucky we tied with them this year, batres is the arbitro for the es v mex game at the azteca and i am certain he will let a lot of red cards get away for es i think that is it for all the teams in the region that are mexico's worst rivals (i would add argentina as well but nothing big has gone down with them). so in what order would you have of the the teams (and their aficionados and media) that have disrespected mexico the most? 1. el salvador (the swine flu mask was the worst) 2. usa (carls, davie darko, donovan, and friends, need i say more) 3. honduras (ruining the lockers at the azteca and their agressive sytle) 4. costa rica (too sure of themselves every time they played mexico) 5. panama (that game was the ugliest game mexico participated in this year) 6. guatemala (never liked them) if it was my choice i would have mexico, canada, and trinidad y tobago in the world cup with jamaica with a chance at the repechaje.

"Or anything.their just hating that were the best country on earth..."

So i guess Mexico is the Most loved and Hated from CONCACAF now huh.well from reading what you wrote i would say that all of them have disrespected Mexico a lot..and oh well it's not like they are perfect.. Costa PObre-Their so poor that they can't even afford real grass. Uassa-They have the #1 rated obesity in the world.their are more fat people in the usa than any other country in North America and the world. They have have gangs in almost every County not country but county. El Salvador-Well first of all their National team is full of Gang Members they might as well change their name to MS-13 National Team. They ain't even worthy to play in El Azteca.we have stadiums El Salvador only has Parks no bleachers or anything.Their just hating that were the best country on Earth . Guatemala-Well what can we say their just mad that Mexico beat them 3-2 in the very first international match we played against them

Q. Marrying someone from another country?
hi, my finance is from panama, we have know each other for over a year now and plan on getting married next year. she has a tourist visa so she can come and visit the usa for 6 months at a time. is it better for us to get married first in the usa or in panama? do i need to get a special visa if i marry someone from another country? any other advice would be much appreciated. thanks for your help. i also forgot to add that we plan on living in the usa.

"Front of her friends and family in panama or is she happy to marry..."

You can marry her here without any special visa but she will have to leave after the wedding and go home while you file to bring her back as your wife. You could go to her country and marry her there if that is important to her and her family. If you don't want to be apart after your wedding you need to file for a fiance visa for her. This allows her to adjust status after you are married and stay with you. You need to ask her what is important to her, does she need to have a wedding in front of her friends and family in Panama or is she happy to marry here. Once you know where you want to marry you may then want to think about the next step. Bringing a spouse here can take a little longer than a fiance. Someone already suggested http://www.visajourney.com and it is a good site with lots of free guides and support. People there are all couples with one American partner and one alien partner and have experience in the whole visa process. You can even find people there who can tell you what to expect at the Embassy interview in Panama.

Q. Where would someone serve jail time if they are canadian but are arrested in another country?
i just got some really sad and sick news that someone i know was arrested in panama for drug smuggling. he is facing 8 to 15 years in jail and i have tried to do some research to find out where people for that crime have to serve their time. he is canadian born and was only visiting that place. i was just wondering if anyone knows how their law works. thank you for any info provided. as of right now he is in a panama jail but i want to know once they sentence him if they will let him serve that time here in canada. i know he deserves the jail time and there is no arguing that but i want to know how the law works when you get arrested in another country for the fool that answered " of course he will serve time" since that was not my question! it blows my mind that people like you are out walking around making comments like " if someone raped your daughter" and " most likely shot". i also have to add i'm a very successful working woman so i'm not the " youth" you speak of and also i have to say that you can blame past generations for the way of the world. i don't know much about law so it should not boggle your mind at all. your very melodramatic and judging by your postings you have serious anger issues. you should talk to someone.

"For a crime that was committed in panama he will serve his time in..."

They will server time in the country where the crime occurred. If he was arrested for a crime that was committed in Panama he will serve his time in Panama. If he was arrested for a crime that was committed in Canada but simply caught in Panama, Canada will ask Panama to send him back and he will spend time in prison there.

Q. Should i be the mature one and go to my fathers wedding?
well,i've been threw a lot, emotionally and physically. . .my dad lives in panama, and he barely sees me. . .i saw him 4 times last year. . .he doesn't see us because of his girlfriend, she lives in panama and she doesn't have her visa to come to the united states. he basically ditched me and my siblings. when we need something he never comes through,he didn't say happy birthday to me,and he didn't get me a birthday gift. all he does is yell at me because his fiancee doesn't like me because i don't talk to her,i don't know the women,i never met her. sorry if this doesn't make sense but, my mom asked me if i want to go to my dad's wedding, and i said "no",then my mom said "why", and i said"because all he does is visit for one day,and then i never see him for another 5 months or so. . ." but,i've been thinking a lot. . . should i go to his wedding after all he brong me and my siblings through? or shouldn't i? more details;; my parents are divorced. my dad's 55 turning 56 on june 23th, his girlfriend is 23. . .

"Putting his part he's not worth your time..."

F*** him! I can't believe you're still talking to him! Some people, no matter if they're family members, are better to leave behind. I don't think that he deserves your love or respect. I do believe in second chances but if he's not putting his part he's not worth your time . I believe that you need to forgive the people that harmed you for your own sake. That does not mean that just because he has a title of "father" does he deserve your presence in that wedding or in his life. To put you an example my father did something unforgivable to me that he even went to jail. When he got out last year I gave him a chance to become the father I always wanted. But then I realized that I forgave him but let him go. I no longer talk to him. And that has been one of the best choices of my life. There's in no more drama, negative thoughts, or sadness. My life is complete and full of happiness. In the end the only one that can make that choice is you. Hopefully you make the choice that makes you happy and not the choice that you think will make your father happy because he never cared for yours. Please give us an update and good luck ^-^

Q. Who am i more obligated to?
ok, this is going to be a little lengthy, and for that i apologize. awhile back (like a year ago), my best friend m from panama was visiting me and i introduced her to my friend j, but they didn't get a long, and neither of them like the other. ff to now, m is visiting again, however, she gave me her itinerary after i had already made dinner plans with j and it turns out she will be arriving the same day/time as j's dinner event. i had already told j i would be going to the dinner for the past three weeks contrary to her belief that i wouldn't be able to make it because of m's arrival. however, when i explained my obligation to m, she insisted she would be upset if i wasn't there to pick her up at the airport even if i had my mom pick her up instead. i don't want to back out of my plans with j and prove her right because then it feels like it's turning into a tug-a-war for my attention. who am i obligated to, and how do i explain to the other party? i feel like either way i'm going to disappoint someone. i'm not trying to weasel my way out of anything, so no rudeness is necessary! i honestly am wondering who i am more obligated to. the dinner is a one time thing that is happening, and of course i would have my mom pick m up (they know each other, m has been my friend since grade school and we're in college now.) i'm torn between both options because they're both my best friends. also, j knows m is coming on the same night already. because i knew m was visiting, i just didn't know when. these past three weeks j keep saying "i don't think you'll be able to go" so part of me wants to go to the dinner just to prove her wrong. might i add that m is staying at my house for the entire week, and j has already implied she will keep herself busy that same week since she doesn't want to see m.

"This is a good test of friendship..."

This is a good test of friendship. Tell M that you made your confirmed plans ahead of her itinerary and there is no way you can back out. If M does not accept this then you know she is selfish and non-accommodating and you should drop her as a friend. You are obligated to J.
