Take it to any do it your self carwash.

Q. Panama city, fl? can anyone give me the names of some good clubs/restaurants/shopping places in panama city beach? also, for anyone who lives there, how is the weather in mid september??
thanks!
"The panama city mall across the bridge includes the usual stores such as sears..."
Breakers and Sharky's usually have some good bands.
Here is what I would recommend by type of dining:
Buffets: Bishop's Family Buffet
Steaks: Boar's Head
Italian: Sweet Basils
Casual Seafood / Sports Bar: Montego Bay
Seafood: Captain Andersons
International: Casa De Fogo Brazilian Restaurant (ask about early bird specials)
Japanese: Mikato (ask about early bird specials)
Chinese: Chinatown
Exotic: The Treasure Ship
Sandwiches: Bay Street Deli
Fast Food: Back Yard Burgers
There is not a whole lot of shopping on the beach other than the souvenir shops. There is a linen outlet on back beach road and a winery. The Panama City Mall across the bridge includes the usual stores such as Sears, JCPenney, and Dillards.
Temperatures range from a low of 72 to a high of 86 in September.
My wife and I are Tallahasseans; Panama City Beach is our second home!

Q. What are the more scenic routes from orlando to panama city beach? my friends and i are flying into orlando and then driving to panama city. we don't necessarily need the shortest route, but nothing too off course. looking for "locals secrets" of must see shops, beaches, parks, historical sites, or just any offbeat place. we love anything artistic, unique, and worth a good photograph! not afraid of small towns. thanks for your help.

"You'll find a little place called ma barker's bar in town..."
Oh yeah.
Back in the 1930's, nasty 'ol Ma Barker and her bank-robbing gang had it out with the G-Men in a little community called Ocklawaha, about 80 miles north of Orlando. Their hideout was shot full of holes and it was the "end of the road" for them. One two-lane road, Route 25, goes through the town. You'll find a little place called Ma Barker's Bar in town on the east side of that road. I haven't been there in several years, but stop by, have a seat underneath the Tommy Gun hanging over the bar and wash down an inexpensive beer. Very friendly little dive with lots of memorabilia. It's worth the half-hour detour from I-75. And be sure to ask about the Ma Barker t-shirt!
Florida might be an old-as-hell state when it comes to European settlers (early 1500's), but nothing survives well in our hot humid climate. One of the oldest remaining towns is Micanopy (mik-AH-nopy). It's touristy, but preserves a lot of what old Florida is about. It's located right next to I-75, between Ocala and Gainesville.
The Suwannee River State Park is worth a visit, since it's just off I-10 after Lake City. Two rivers meet here and this was a strategic location of a Confederate fort back in the Civil War. Some relics and the old RR tressle are still there. A bustling town used to be located at this junction, but it has completely disappeared except for the little old graveyard back in the woods. It's one of the oldest graveyards in Florida. You'll also find a few walking trails that overlook the Suwanee River. The area is pocketed with underground springs, and if the river is running normal, you can get right down on the edge and check out a few spring boils.
Florida Caverns State Park is located just north of Marianna off I-10 before PCB. It's a nice little tourist trap with honest-to-goodness caves...in Florida. The tour of the caverns takes an hour or so and there's a couple of cool walking trails in the area.
By this point in the trip, you'll probably wondered about some of the odd names for towns here and there. One that I like is just to the NW of the caverns. It's called Two Egg. Makes you wonder. Just a photo of the sign is unique.

Q. Where is the best place to vacation in florida? me, my husband, and our two friends are planning a trip to florida in the beginning of august. we are trying to figure out where to go. the places we have considered are panama city, destin, and pensacola. we are looking for some relaxing on the beach, good restaurants, bars/nightclubs, and good shopping. where would be the best place for all three? where would you recommend for vacation?
"Andrews state park in panama city beach..."
I actually really enjoyed St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach. I camped there just a couple of weeks ago and it was simply amazing.

Oh, I should also mention, I live in Fort Walton Beach, just between Destin and Pensacola. I don't like Pensacola, and Destin is ... well... Destins for the rich. And it's a tourist trap. I think you will enjoy Panama City/Panama City Beach much more. Just my advice from a local.

Q. What are some good low-key spring break destinations? have a group of people together and we are looking for places to go around spring break time. we have already done the panama city beach thing and just found that the crowded drunken college 24 hour party scene was not what we wanted to do this year. we would like to be on a beach, and have things available to do such as clubs and bars shopping and so on, but just have it be not as wild and crazy as typical spring break destinations. any suggestions or experiences would help.
the best is along hwy 1, big sur area is considered most scenic coastline with rugged remote beaches in the nation, see http://www.bayareavisit.com/Special.html
